The Pennsylvania Department of Health recently updated their COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution Plan. This plan now includes “Clergy and other essential support for houses of worship” in Phase 1B.  While some clergy have been included in Phase 1A given their work as chaplains and other vocations as frontline workers, Phase 1B is all-inclusive of clergy not pertaining to Phase 1A. Many have asked about PCUSA Minister Cards as documentation. Current Minister Cards are good through March 1, 2021. We expect to receive in February the new minister cards that will be good through March 1, 2022. Stay tuned. The Presbytery will work with all clergy should additional documentation be needed to receive vaccinations.

Introducing Online Matthew 25 Curriculum

Each module of our new Matthew 25 curriculum consists of a biblical foundation, theological reflection and practical tools to help you adapt and apply the content to your own ministry. Courses will be available for each of the three Matthew 25 focuses: nurturing vital congregations and communities of faith, dismantling structural racism and working to end systemic poverty.

Each series consists of 4 two-hour, highly-participatory online classes. You may take the class in a small group or as a self-paced, individual study. Click on the Matthew 25 Class

We have partnered with Stony Point Center and Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary to develop these courses.

First course coming August 10: “Awakening to Structural Racism”
This course is for people interested in learning more about structural racism and how to resist and deconstruct its destructive power in our own lives, our churches, our communities and the broader culture.
