Partnership for Missional Church Alpha Cluster Survey

Dear PMC Partners,

The Synod of the Trinity has asked Church Innovations Institute to follow up with congregations who have finished the Partnership for a Missional Church. We would like to document how congregations have changed over the years. The first stage of the research project involves a 15 – minute survey. The link to the survey, as well as a pdf that can be printed, is included with this note. We appreciate your partnership and cooperation in this endeavor. The results of this research project will help us discern how to continue our work with churches for the sake of God’s mission in our synod.

As is the case with all surveys, a higher response rate will give us better data for this project. For the sake of validity, Church Innovations has asked for 24-30 responses in each congregation from a diverse cross-section of people. However, we realize that this might be a high percentage for some congregations. Therefore, what we propose is that each congregation uses their ‘Congregational Discovery’ interview number as a starting point. How many people did your ‘Listening Leaders’ interview in Phase I? If you can get this same number of responses to the survey from your congregation, this will be a great help to us. We suggest three different tactics for distributing the survey:

(1)  Make a general announcement in your congregation inviting anyone and everyone to take the survey. Make a hard copy and internet link available.

(2)  Ask your listening leaders to actively invite their interviewees to take the survey.

(3)  Invite your steering team (and any who worked on PMC at any level) and church staff to take the survey.

The survey can be taken online at SurveyMonkey.com. For those who might not be comfortable going online for the survey, we have also attached a pdf file that contains the survey. Simply print the pdf, distribute it, and mail the completed surveys to Church Innovations. Responses will be kept confidential. Church Innovations would like the responses by August 1, so we appreciate your help in distributing the survey quickly.
