Kirkwood’s Mission

Kirkwood’s mission is to strengthen the Church of Jesus Christ by enabling children, youth, families, and adults to begin or deepen their experience of God in the context of nature and a caring Christian community centered on the word of God.

Nestled in a hidden valley in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains near Stroudsburg, PA, Kirkwood is a beautiful 286 acre sanctuary with meadows, woodlands with abundant wildlife. Mountain Ridges and Big Pocono Creek punctuate the serene beauty of Kirkwood.

Accredited by the American Camp Association, Kirkwood offers a full range of summer camp experiences for all ages, including traditional camps, arts camps, and adventure camps. We work closely with Chester Eastside Ministries and John Gloucester Houses’ City Camp program. We also offer a variety of fall, winter, and  spring retreats and events for youth and families. Our facilities are available for rent to churches and other non-profit groups September through May. Come experience autumn foliage or the emerging spring with Maple Sugaring.
