Dear Fellow Members of the NE Region,
Do Justice … Love Mercy … Walk Humbly with God
The words are Micah’s, and the challenge is to each of us. In this world that appears to always be spinning out of control, with a new problem turning up every new morning, I sometimes find myself wondering just how can we affect change, just how can we live into this admonition that the prophet Micah lays out before us. Perhaps you too are perplexed about the role you can play. Over the course of the next three meeting of the region, we will attempt to find ways to rise up to these challenges.
Come this June we will be looking at what and how we “Do Justice”; in October, what it means to “Love Mercy”; and then next March we’ll wrap everything up by trying to “Walk Humbly with God”; in our daily walk, in our church, in our city, and in the larger world around us.
On the 9th we will be seeking to better understand:
- Risk Management – Child Protection and Church Safety, presented by Larry Davis
- The Synergy Project – how Valley Youth House brings justice to homeless and runaway youths between the ages of 12 to 17
- Ivyland Community Arts Initiative – how the arts can bring justice in the local area
Please remember that, just like a Stated meeting of the Presbytery, you are expected to contact us to be excused should you are unable to be present at the Regional meeting. Note the location, date and time below.
