At the April 30, 2024 Stated Meeting, the Presbytery of Philadelphia approved the Committee on Bills & Overtures recommendations to Concur to with the following Overtures:
As described in the Standing Rules of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), overtures are items of business that have been approved by a presbytery or a synod that request the General Assembly take a particular action or approve or endorse a particular statement or resolution. In recent years, for overtures to be considered by the General Assembly they have required a concurrence. Concurrences are items of business that have been approved by a different presbytery that recommend an action identical to that in an overture already received for that assembly. They function in a similar manner as a “second” to a motion – indicating the desire of more than one body for the item to be considered.
