Ministry Moments: Creating Space to be Community

“Creating Space to be Community”

In our post-pandemic reality, with society feeling more isolated and disconnected than ever before, Grace Presbyterian Church of Jenkintown knew their faith was calling them to bring people together.  In conversations with local partners and other civic organizations, it became clear that there was a lack of common meeting spaces in the area. As a result, Grace began to cast a vision of how to address these needs.  Along with embarking on a capital campaign to raise funds to renovate their fellowship spaces, they also leveraged their relationships with local and state leaders to secure a matching state-funded grant, which enabled them to bring to life “The Community Center at Grace.”  As they’ve welcomed people in with hospitality, they’ve seen their community come in and deepen their sense of “belonging” & “connection”.  As they share their vision, we hope that you will be encouraged to explore ways you might foster deeper connections with the community around you!
