Ministry Moments: Building What Matters: Designing Space for Today’s Ministry

Feeling confined by a building designed for the needs of a previous generation, Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church began to ask an important question: If we could redesign our space for today’s ministry, what would we do? What began as a question soon became a vision, energized and brought to life through a capital campaign.

By listening closely to the needs of their congregation and community partners, they reimagined their space as one that nourishes the soul and supports the work Christ is doing in their midst. Through their “Building What Matters” campaign, they transformed fellowship and meeting areas to foster deeper belonging and connection, while also modernizing their children’s wing to support the hopes and dreams of young families.

As they share their story, we invite you to be inspired—and to imagine the possibilities your own space might hold for ministry.
