Restorative Justice and the Arts: Creativity and Leadership for Returning Citizens
Restorative Justice and the Arts is a collaboration between Volta Studio,Mural Arts Philadelphia Restorative Justice Guild, and Olivet-Covenant Presbyterian Church. The partnership, hosted in the gym at Olivet-Covenant in Fairmount, provides a safe, communal space and employment opportunities to young adults re-entering society after incarceration. Guild artists construct murals in at-risk communities and alongside local public school students and STEM teachers to foster creativity, leadership development, and reduce the risk of recidivism (returning to prison).
