Executive Presbyter Nominating Committee May 1, 2013

The latest update from the Executive Presbyter Nominating Committee for May 1, 2013

Dear Friends,

On Tuesday, the Executive Presbyter Nominating Committee met again. Here is the latest update. As part of our gathering on April 30 we:

  • reviewed the list of all individuals who applied or were recommended to us and shared the results of our follow-up with each of them. We will call five from whom we have not heard anything yet and voted to remove from further consideration five who were computer matches from the General Assembly office, but expressed no interest in continuing the conversation
  • learned that we have 49 potential candidates of whom 21 have provided a Personal Information Form or resume, answers to our supplemental questions and their statement of faith
  • determined that since April 30th was our application deadline we will continue conversations with the above 49 until they or we decide not to continue but will accept no further applications or recommended candidates. The CIF in the GA office became inactive as of today
  • began the initial evaluation of candidates who have completed the required materials

At our next meeting (May 14) we will complete the initial evaluation of all candidates who have provided us with all of the required materials and work with Dean Foose to develop interview questions that fit the desired traits identified by the Presbytery . The EPNC may identify that day the candidates with whom we will begin interviews. I will provide you with an update after that meeting.

As always, I encourage you to speak with any member of the committee regarding questions or concerns you have about the process. Know how grateful we remain for your prayers and encouragement as we continue in this time of discernment on your behalf.

Faithfully yours, John M. Willingham – Chair, EPNC
