The Common Place Provides Transformational Community Service Opportunities
A Common Mission Experience is a 6 week, service-oriented empowerment program that provides an opportunity for groups of all faiths and religious backgrounds to learn and work alongside one another within the Southwest Philadelphia community. During this experience, each group will lodge at The Common Place facility for one week while participating in purposeful activities and providing service to various partner sites in and around Southwest Philadelphia. Throughout this week-long experience, groups will participate in spiritual meditation and activities under the supervision of group leaders and Common Place staff. These projects are designed to immerse groups into experiences that encourage both personal and spiritual development. Activities include themes such as individual achievements, interfaith service and understanding, justice, and peacemaking.
The Common Place will provide lodging, meals, and transportation for each group in addition to evening programming. Groups can expect to have fun, make new friends, and learn more about faith development.
If you are interested in becoming a service site, please fill out this questionnaire and A Common Mission Experience staff will contact you.
