Elder Linda Rutkosky, 2018 Moderator of the Presbytery of Philadelphia
Elder Linda Rutkosky is a lifelong Presbyterian. She has a B.S. in Health & Business Administration from Ithaca College and earned a Masters in Education (with emphasis on corporate training) from Boston University in 1982. She has been a member of Doylestown Presbyterian Church for more than 25 years and has served her church in numerous capacities.
She has served as moderator of the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee that called the current Youth & Family Pastor, moderated the committee that called the current Mission Director, moderated the Mission Committee, moderated the Church Officer Nominating Committee, moderated the Children’s Education Committee, and served on the leadership team of a church building capital campaign.
She is a Stephens Minister. Linda also spent five years on staff as Children’s Worship Leader while the church was experiencing transition. In addition to serving her church, Linda has been on numerous community boards.
In 2014, Linda was a commissioner to the 221st General Assembly held in Detroit, Michigan. She currently serves as the recording secretary for the Presbytery’s Commission on Preparation for Ministry and Membership.
Linda’s earlier career was in Pharmaceutical Advertising. After having children, her career was put on hold when it was determined that her youngest child was disabled.
Linda and her husband, James, have been very happily married since 1988. They are grateful to God for the gift of two beautiful children, Alexandra and John. A self-professed foodie, Linda likes to entertain. She enjoys playing golf with her husband and friends, hiking, traveling, reading a good page-turner and art history.
