SUMMARY:Buckets of Blessings: One Church\, One Bucket
DESCRIPTION:A Call to Compassion and Action \nIn recent months\, we have witnessed a troubling surge in natural disasters—devastating communities both near and far with fire\, flood\, and destruction. In these moments of crisis\, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has been a faithful presence\, offering critical support and initiating recovery efforts in the immediate aftermath. \nOne of the key tools PDA uses in its response is the “emergency response bucket”—five-gallon containers filled with essential cleaning and recovery supplies. Assembled by communities of faith from across the country\, these buckets include items such as gloves\, contractor-grade trash bags\, cleaning products\, dust masks\, and more. These “Buckets of Blessings\,” as we are calling them\, provide tangible support to families facing the difficult work of rebuilding their lives. \nIn response to the growing demand for these emergency supplies\, the Collegium is launching the One Church\, One Bucket Challenge—a presbytery-wide effort to collect at least 110 buckets. Through this initiative\, we hope to demonstrate our solidarity with those impacted by disaster and deepen our partnership with PDA. \nBucket collection will take place around Thanksgiving\, with donations delivered to a regional PDA warehouse. In addition to assembling buckets\, congregations and individuals are encouraged to give financially.
