There is Much We Can Do

In response to the growing awareness and desire to respond faithfully to the challenges of the world around us, this year’s Fall Fest focused on our Public Witness and Response.

With workshops led by our community partners and a keynote with the Rev. Jimmie Hawkins, the Director of the PC(USA)’s Office of Public Witness, we learned hands-on ways to make a difference around issues involving gun violence, natural disasters, and asylum-seekers. As followers of Christ, we have been called to be repairers of the breach, to work for peace, and to offer our voice for the voiceless.

In a time often marked by despair, this equipping event urged us forward with hope and encouragement, knowing there is much we can do to concretely follow Jesus’s imperative to love our neighbor.
