NEXT Church Offers Resources on Stewardship

The NEXT Church Resources: A New Perspective on Stewardship

This month, the NEXT Church blog has featured reflections on stewardship, looking beyond stewardship campaigns to a more holistic approach. They heard from stewardship experts across the country on what stewardship means for them. What are ways stewardship can be a spiritual practice? How might we come to a new understanding of the role of stewardship in ministry? Here’s some of what the writers had to say:

“Stewardship 101” : Deborah Rexrode kicks off the series by exploring what scripture tells us about stewardship.
“Creating a Narrative Budget'” : Raymond Bonwell explores three types of church budgets and argues for the use of words over numbers.
“Being Generous” : David Loleng reflects on how the church can form generous disciples.

You can find all of the blog posts on stewardship here. Each writer discussed a different aspect of stewardship, so we hope the posts continue to be a useful resource for you!

NEXT UP:  They will be previewing their latest project: Cultivated Ministry (which we formerly referred to as “mindful ministry“). Blog posts will feature portions of the Cultivated Ministry field guide before its release this fall and reflections from individuals who have piloted the project in their own ministry contexts.
