November Stated Meeting 2020: Recap and Minutes in Brief

We give thanks for the nearly 200 who gathered over ZOOM and Facebook LIVE for our Virtual Stated Meeting. We continue to be in awe of how the saints gathered and scattered from around Greater Philadelphia rise up in such a time as this to proclaim Christ’s work through imaginative and faithful witness. Our November Meeting was centered in worship of the God who is ever with us and for us, shaped by meditations on Scripture and the preaching of the Word, and inspired by God’s Spirit who has equipped us with more than enough to live into the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our time and place. We are especially grateful for our Moderator, Elder Vijay Aggarwal, and Vice Moderator, Rev. Ashley Rossi; all those who participated in liturgy and report sharing; Cara Cavicchia, who was approved for ordination as a Minister of Word and Sacrament; the saints of Disston Memorial Presbyterian Church, as they close a chapter on their legacy of ministry; Salt and Light Community Church, as they resurrect a new season of creative and ecumenical collaboration; our 11 Vital Congregations  commissioned to a two-year journey of revitalization; our Executive and larger Presbytery staff; and the Rev. Larissa Kwong Abazia, Vice Moderator of the 221st General Assembly and Convener of Cultivating Enough in the Care of Clergy, who served as our guest preacher. Our prayers are with you as you lean into the energy, intelligence, imagination, and love of your call, reminded that we can do infinitely more together than we ever could do alone.

What follows here is the audio from the sermon delivered by Rev. Larissa Kwong Abazia, Just One More Thing, then the executive staff report shared with the Presbytery.
