Jim is a member at Old Pine Street Presbyterian Church in Center City. Prior to joining the Presbytery of Philadelphia staff as Director of Business Administration in August 2020, Jim served in the same position at the Presbytery of Scioto Valley in Columbus Ohio.
Jim is a graduate of Ohio State University and earned his CPA certificate in the state of Texas. He and his wife, Rev. Liz Wagner, both grew up in Ohio but embrace Charlotte NC as their hometown where they lived for nearly 30 years and raised two boys, now young men, as members of Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte. His financial and accounting experience spans industries from manufacturing to the energy sector, service businesses, and not-for-profit organizations.
Jim volunteered and served in leadership roles at community organizations such as The Community Culinary School, the Urban Ministry Center, both in Charlotte, and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Arkansas.
