Responding to Ida: Resources for Congregations
Many of our congregations and communities within the Presbytery of Philadelphia have been deeply impacted by last weeks flooding and tornadoes brought on by Hurricane Ida. As God’s people continue to extend the love and compassion of Christ in places most impacted, here are are some recommended resources:
- Presbyterian Disaster Assistance: Grant dollars of up to $5,000 are available through PDA> Each Presbytery, however, is only allocated a total of up to $25,000 per calendar year. Learn more here
- Great Ends Grant through the Presbytery: Consider applying for up to $3,000 of funds to support your efforts to extend care and compassion in your neighborhoods. While these funds are not for the use of capital expenses, they can be seed grants for initiatives that leverage various acts of love and solidarity. Learn more here.
- The Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (USA) is offering Natural Disaster and Crisis Resources, and Emergency Assistance Grants
If your congregation has other needs, is looking for additional resources, or has connections to resources that would benefit others, please contact enews@presbyphl.org.
