The Well, the overnight shelter for women which is a part of the community of The Welcome Church, opened for its third season, on November 1.

Please help them with these current urgent needs for January 2018:

At our January 30th Stated Meeting, we will be collection coffee, tea, creamer, sugar and toilet paper to support The Well. Donations can be brought to the registration table and placed in designated bins. 

Other needed items:

  • Blankets, Sheets and Pillow Cases
  • Coffee, Creamer, Sugar, Tea
  • Paper Towels, Dish Soap, Toilet Paper, Toiletries (including: liquid handsoap; shower gel; shampoo; conditioner; combs & brushes; foot care items = lotion; powder; clippers)
  • Desired Food Items: Granola Bars, Powdered Milk, Cereal Bars, Easy-to-Prepare Single-Serving Size Meals, Instant and/or Microwave Macaroni & Cheese, Boxes of Cereal, Instant Oatmeal/Grits

  • Underwear, socks, bras (all in small, medium, large)

  • Shampoo and Conditioner
  • 12-18 Bath Towels
  • Foot care supplies (lotion, powder, and clippers)
  • 2-18 Shower Shoes / Flip Flops
  • 6 locks for the bins
  • Yarn/ knitting needles and crochet hooks
  • Coloring books and coloring implements
  • Personal journal books, pens, pencils
  • Liquid Hand Soap
  • Shower Gel
  • Dish liquid
  • Dish-washing cloths or sponges
  • Dish towels
  • Paper towels
  • Baggies (all sizes) for food storage
  • Plastic containers for food storage

Volunteers are welcome for any of the following jobs and activities:

  1. Make a meal for 12 and drop it off at The Well at 7 pm one evening.  OR You may bring the ingredients and stay to cook and enjoy the meal with women.
  2. Share your skills or interests and lead a group, either once or once per week:  yoga?  Crafts?  Crochet or knitting?  Other? Contact Sarah Erdo directly at Bethesda Project [email protected]

Financial contributions welcome:

Money always welcome for supplies such as coffee, milk, orange juice, cocoa, breakfast supplies, laundry, feminine supplies, and ongoing needs as they arise.
